Rancho Dorado Traffic Survey
The San Marcos Traffic Commission has performed multiple traffic studies and has determined the best course of action for traffic calming on White Sands, Coast and Island is to begin with Level 1 countermeasures. This includes line striping, additional placement of speed limit signage, and permanent radar feedback signs. Pending approval, this would be completed over the next several months.
Per the traffic studies, the average speeds on White Sands are averaging 37 MPH, speeds on Coast are averaging 31 MPH, and speeds on Island are averaging 39 MPH with speeds topping out at 45+ MPH on both White Sands and Coast. Average traffic of 1,000+ vehicles per day on White Sands and 800+ vehicles per day on Coast.
The HOA board of directors is attempting to gauge the community’s feelings on these matters so we can present them to the city in order to hopefully influence the city’s decision. While our hope is to provide feedback and influence the City's decision, there is no guarantee that the community's feedback will be considered or used for a final decision by the City of San Marcos. Please fill out the following survey so we can get your input.
