As many of you may be aware, SDG&E has recently submitted an application for a permit to add more power lines in what is referenced as the “Tie Line, 6975 San Marcos to Escondido Project”. Segment 1 and 2 of the plan will add additional power lines within 50-100 feet of many of the homes within the community.
The Rancho Dorado Board of Directors has contact the Association’s attorney and has requested that a letter be sent to the Public Utilities Commission requesting a hearing be held before the application is approved and moves forward.
If you, as a homeowner, are opposed to this project you may also request a public hearing by sending an email or letter. Please note, there is a deadline of December 15th for hearing requests. Therefore, your ability to voice your concern and request a hearing must be sent prior to that date. There is a sample outline below or you may draft your own.
The email should be sent to: [email protected].
SAMPLE EMAIL:
To whom it may concern;
I am writing this email to vigorously oppose the project described as "Application of San Diego Gas & Electric Company (U 902 E) for a Permit to Construct (PTC) the Tie Line (TL) 6975 San Marcos to Escondido Project" as referenced on the SDG&E website at https://www.sdge.com/regulatory-filing/22831/application-san-diego-gas-electric-company-u-902-e-permit-construct-ptc-tie
I am particularly opposed to Segment 1 and 2 of the documented plan. This project proposes to install additional power lines 50 feet closer to my home in San Marcos at increasing environmental risk, further obstructing the view of my property, and threatening to reduce the value of my home.
I formally request a public hearing that will ultimately result in the obstruction of this project as currently defined. SDG&E should revise this plan to run power lines underground for the segment that runs through the Rancho Dorado neighborhood and into the open space to the west.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
The Board will continue to keep homeowners updated as more information is received.
