As the State of California was in a severe drought warning, Rancho Dorado's Board of Directors, along with the Association's contract landscape vendor, Nissho of California, made a commitment to reducing the amount of water being used in Rancho Dorado. Not only would this commitment be for the Association to do its part in conservation, but also, it would reduce the Association's expense for water, which was expected to reach and annual expense of $90,000 in 2015.
With a successful partnership between the Board and Nissho, the Association was able to reduce water usage by 7,758 in 2015. One unit of water is equal to 748 gallons, which means Rancho Dorado saved 5,802,984 gallons of water in 2015!
